bioreactor

Bioreactor multiplication.
nodules, meristem clumps,
somatic embryos and cells,
bulbs ,boston fern,potato,
corms or microtubers.

membrane Vessel

The LifeGuard
plant growth vessels and
aseptic membrane vented lids are ideal for plant tissue culture.
These unique vented vessels
allow complete control of
aeration while prevecontamination from external sources from entering.

membrane raft liferaft

The LifeRaft
unique multiplication system
of nodules and meristem or
shoot clumps,as well as the
growth of shoots, microtubers,
bulbs and root culture on liquid medium.

the vitro cut

The VitroCut
mechanical plant culture
separator randomly cuts culture
material on a knife grid with a
unique self cleaning anvil.
Cut plant material falls directly
into a sterile vessel.

DEMO LAB AND TRANNING ON OSMOTEK EQUIPMENT

Prof. Spirodon Kintzios of the Agricultural University of Athens has built a demonstration center using Osmotek equipment which provides a five-day, modular training program
(also possible to select single modules ) as follows:

1. Principles of micropropagation (theory), practical introduction to a micropropagation lab
(1 day).

2. Solid culture establishment/ liquid culture in rafts (medium preparation, explant preparation, culture initiation, indexing, subculturing) (2 days).

3. Bioreactor culture (media preparation, culture initiation, bioreactor setup, etc.) (2 days).

The entire program can be carried out in the demo center, which is currently located in the University Lab.

Prof. Kintzios is also willing to provide cunsulting services in regard to:
1. micropropagation protocols for specific plants.
2. instructions on how to build a turn-key micropropagation facility.

A second demo center is already in the planning stage in the UK at the University of Nottingham, and discussions are presently underway with contacts in the USA.

See a preview of the work on Semi-automated micropropagation for cucumber culture

See the whole presentation on the cucumber work at www.embio.org Since the section of interest is a powerpoint presentation file which is quite large , we recommend that you download the file by pointing mouse cusor to "Scale-up Plant Propagation Systems", and then right click and download the ppt file using the "Save Target As" option. Then open it offline.

Please contact Prof. Kintzios directly at the address given below :
